Training a metalwork apprentice

IG project families 2

In 2022, we will be supporting two apprenticeships for young people to train as metalworkers.  There is a lot of demand for metalwork in the area, but no-one who knows how to do it.  The aim is to produce metal frames for doors and windows.  Two young people will spend three months studying as apprentices with an experienced metalworker in another region of Honduras, and then set up their own workshop when they return.  The cost of the project includes payment of the instructor, food and accommodation for three months, welding equipment, a polisher, helmets and gloves.
