Tigh Sgoile, our home in the Highlands of Scotland

Welcome to the Tigh Sgoile Trust

Hello, we are Sarah and Chris Boles and the Tigh Sgoile Trust is our family-based charity.   The Trust's aim is to support community development projects in Latin America, Africa and Asia.  It was set up in 2020 and gained formal registration as a Scottish charity in March 2021.

Tigh Sgoile is the name of our house in Onich, in the beautiful Scottish Highlands, and the name means 'School House' in Gaelic, pronounced 'tie sgoyle'. It was the village school until 1980.

Both of us have spent time in our life working in international development. Sarah has worked for many years in Latin America and Africa, and Chris in Asia, so the Trust is our opportunity to maintain those links and to keep helping where we can.

As we begin to develop our new charity, we are excited by the projects that we have begun to support.  At present, we are channelling our funds to communities in the Highlands of Honduras, working with local volunteers on the ground whom we have known for many years.

We are so grateful to everyone who has donated to the projects and value your involvement, both for your financial support and for your encouragement and belief in what we are doing.

If you are new to the Trust, you can read about the projects we are funding on our projects page and, if you would like to make a donation, you can do so via our fundraising page.   Thank you for your support.
